FALL AND WINTER HEALTH TIPS

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION & A FEW TIME-TESTED TIPS

Cold and Flu season is upon us. Prevention is the key to strengthening your immune system. You’ve got to act fast to fight off illness. Case in point: University of Arizona scientists have found that when someone is sick in an office, it takes only four hours (!) for surfaces like coffeepot handles, copy-machine buttons and the fridge door to show traces of infectious virus.

Considering that the 2016 flu season was one of the worst on record — it even reached epidemic status — it’s well worth arming yourself against aches, cough, fever and general misery.

For real-life, time-tested tips that actually work, use these strategies to win the battle against germs this fall and winter.

LOSE THE BOOSE

Alcohol interferes with deep REM sleep and less sleep equals weakened immune defenses. This leaves you more vulnerable to germs, bacteria and virus infections.

GET YOUR PROTEIN FIX

Research shows that diets that are too low in protein can deplete the immune system. Make sure to get protein-rich foods throughout the day or use our organic vegan Power Protein Plus.

WIPE IT

Wipe them all — door handles, shopping carts, phones, office coffee pots, microwaves, refrigerator doors, gym equipment, in other words, anything you have to handle. Clean these items with micro-bacterial pocket wipes and take a dose of our Viral/Flu Protectionhomeopathic remedy before you head out the door or when traveling.

BRING YOUR OWN PEN

Carry your own pen to use when shopping at the grocery store, writing a check at the doctor’s office and to hit the ATM buttons with. It will help avoid picking up germs.

HYDRATE, A LOT!

Drink water constantly to flush toxins out through your lymph system. During cold and flu season, drink more than you think you need as dehydration sneaks up on us. Add lemons and ginger for flavor and extra detox.

WATCH YOUR HANDS

Water fountains, railings on stairs and escalators have been exposed to hundreds of germy hands and mouths and do not have the benefit of being sanitized.

OIL UP

A few drops of lavender oil is a great hand sanitizer.

KNOW YOUR KNEADS

Whenever possible, have a restorative massage. It will increase your circulation which boosts immunity by nourishing cells with more oxygen and blood. It also encourages relaxation and helps you de-stress. When you’re less stressed, you’re less likely to be a germ magnet.

DO SWEAT IT

Exercise to the point of perspiration. Or, go for a sauna. Sweating helps you eliminate lots of unwanted toxins.

LADIES, PLEASE DON’T SHARE

Sharing you lipsticks, foundations and, especially, eye makeup puts you at great risk of contracting something from whomever you so generosity shared your make up. Make it a golden rule: DON’T SHARE. EVER!

GET YOUR REST

Make sure to get enough sleep, even if it’s just a power nap on a plane or before the kids get home from school. Research shows that our bodies need seven to eight hours of sleep in order to stimulate an immune response from our natural killer cells, which attack viruses. Sleep is your most reliable defense against illness and infection. Trouble sleeping? Try our Terraoceana Restorative Sleep formula for a peaceful night of rest.

GET ALL YOUR NURTIENTS

Research has shown that it is not possible to have all your nutritional needs met through diet alone, even if you eat completely organic fare. Make sure you take the appropriate organic wholefood supplements and remedies to keep you and your immune system in top form. VIBRANT HEALTH = TRUE WEALTH!

Here’s a great immune protecting elixir: Blend Terraoceana Wholefood Vitamin C, Power for Life and Power Protein Plus for the extra protection needed for vibrant health!
